Advantage and Disadvantage of National Exam

           

Nowadays, National Exam still becomes a hot topic in Indonesia. It still becomes a debate whether or not it is necessary for students. Actually.if the national examination is removed, the level of national education is truly harmful. Because National Exam is to create a good standard of education in Indonesia (Kalla, 2013). However most people agree with the National Exam and some people are not. Each of them has an advantage, which is as a measurement of the student’s ability and disadvantage, which is increase the anxiety of the students.

            People who agree with the National Exam reflect that National Exam is very important for our educational system. National Exam in Indonesia has become a measurement of the students. Kemendikbud (2017) says National Examination in Indonesia as a basis to enhance the education quality. It also makes the students study tougher in order to get the best score in National Exam. That is why National Exam should be maintained in Indonesia.

            However, there are people who do not agree with National Exam. They give a statement that National Exam will increase the student’s anxiety. Purnama (2013) says student’s ability are not only judged on the examination, but also in their learning progress. National Exam only makes the students mental down. That is why National Exam should be deleted in Indonesia.

            Essentially, National Exam has a good point for our educational system. On the other hand, National Exam also creates a negative impact on students themselves. It has still become a matter in our country. Actually, National Examinations should not be deleted in our country. However, we need to find the solutions to develop National Examination become better and do not troubling students.
